St. Andrews has a diverse ancient philosophy community with equal strength in the departments of Classics and Philosophy, and with people in several other departments interested in the field. It combines highest rigour in scholarship with a very friendly atmosphere. Sarah Broadie, John Burnet, Lewis Campbell, Ian Kidd and A.E. Taylor taught here.
